Default Which high performance carburetor will fit a 295 cc Freedom

I'm looking for a high perf carb for my 295 cc EZGO freedom 2004 model. I heard a rumour that Kawasaki made one that would fit. Anybody got any ideas?

Hello Matt,

If you didn't tune your engine, it doesn't realy make much sense.

I have a 25 / 20 mm on my engine for a curvy track with much hairpins and a 30 / 25 for the loner tracks.

The big one has the habit to burp when revs are to low in combination wit suddenly full throttle, but does well on high revs like 7000 up to 9000.

On your engine burping will be the result when not tuned.

When you say "tuned" can you be more specific? I've got the exhaust and plugs but that's about it.

Welcome Matt. Have you tried to jet the carb you have ? or are you just wanting more than that.

I have changed the jet but years ago I used to mess about with Mini's and remember switching the original carb for a twin choke webber which definitely made a huge difference. Some hiccuping and burbling occasionally but over all great. So I was wondering if there was a similar product out there, a motorbike carb maybe, that could deliver a better fuel/air mix in larger volumes.

I used a carb from an onan generator. It's bigger and is completely adjustable. I bought it 2nd hand from a member here with an adapter plate and took it from there. I'm not sure about the Kawi carb. Some of the more knowledgeable will chime in shortly.

Hello Mattb

On the european Mini was one membranecarb.
If you change it wit one carb without a membrane, you also get some burping, but a better reaction on the gaspedal a litle above stationairy revs.
The membrane works like a softener.

A register carb will give better high and low reaction, so without burping.
A double carb gives better high rev performance, but misserable low.

A double, a register or any other real bigger carb does't work on a Subaru.
Why?
There is only one hole in the head!
I have tried a registercarb (homemade) and a double one. It doesn't work.
The register did a litle on high revs and was less burping, but verry difficult in building it on the engine.

My engine is build as a streaming engine, because mostly we drive full throtle!
A big carb has not enough airspeed on low revs in combi with suddenly full throtle, so will only work on high revs, like in real racingengines.

Tuning in my eyes is: bigger ports, bigger valves, stronger springs, higher compression, special exhoust, other enginetiming, other rocker and so on.
This in combi with other safety measurements for the engine.
Remember, mine goes 8.5 and more revs.....and yours about 4000.
On mine the the music is starting at 4800!
Stationairy revs are 1.6 when warm and 2.0 when cold.

Okay, a litlebit bigger new carb, with smoothening the engineports, a KN filter on it and a better exhaust. will bring some.
But there is your revlimiter.......
