Not much Vtwin action these days. Must be a shortage of engines?

24hp Honda is stock, The Vanguards all have cams, rev kits and timing advance keys so they have a bit more power.

Always wondered how the Honda's ran in carts. I know some of them have the electronic rev limiter. I do appreciate a Honda engine, I've had several pieces of equipment with Honda engines that seemed to last forever and always started so easily.

I like usa-made but you can't beat a Honda I got three Honda's GX 390s with pull start and 1 390 with electric start and they all start on the first or second pull can't beat it. I have a 1976 Honda 200 that I still drive around once or twice a week runs great. And a Honda generator I've had for 40 years that will start on the first or second pull every time. Thinking about putting the GX390 electric start and a golf cart that I have. I know they're not v-twins but they still kick ***. Those are some nice carts kawasaki

Rib you're right, Honda's kick a** alright. I have a pressurewasher that I have had for 10 years and I've never even put a spark plug in it. It just keeps starting on 1st or 2nd pull and runs like a champ. The GX390 is legendary. That's why everyone is cloning it, right? I think the GX630 is the same way, the HF670 is a clone of that I believe.

I just wonder how the power feels on the Honda Vtwins. I'm sure inch for inch they are similar to other Vtwins. Wonder why they aren't as popular in a golf cart, cost maybe?

Not popular because of cost, no performance parts, no good exhaust headers, not a lot of good affordable clutches for the larger shaft etc. Mine is the older 670 and I by- passed rev limiter, Its has the big 1190 clutch, and a Strechplastics performance stainless header [ not made anymore and is the best header I have ever seen] with 2 Supertrapp tunable mufflers. Cart will run 45mph @ 5,000 rpms and that is pushing its limit.
