Jerald,
Please keep us informed as you work through the aftermath. Let us know of success and failure with homeowners. And as you think it through, let us know what you think the cause was. Make this as much of a learning experience as you can for all of us.

Hopefully you will be able to rebuild and Ver. 2 will be even better! Take pride in what you had and especially how you handled the experience, including sharing it here for all the rest of us to learn from....

Very quick reaction and having fire extinguishers on hand was the difference maker here! Not everyone has that ability! Given any thought to becoming a firefighter?

Had you literally not just come out to check... that cart would have burned the house down

Just WOW!!! And like the other post, I'm glad you're OK.

I can't help but think running the voltage down to a point where the charger would start had a lot to do with this. I have no resource that tells me this is so......just a gut feel.

We have all read about the dangers of lithium batteries and how they will fail if the voltage is drawn below the "knee", and if any given cell is overcharged.

As Sergio stated, redundancy in the systems is never a bad thing.

Now, not knowing what charger you were using and the charging amps of it, I can't suspect if your charging power helped this thermal runaway or not.

I know that my chargers max charging amps is 16A.

This builds a case for a quick release method for quick removal of the pack.
