Will my starter/generator support lights and radio?
I recently acquired an older Yamaha golf cart. I want to fix it up and add lights and a radio. Will the stock starter/generator supply the required power or will I need to upgrade something?

I have a stereo, main lights, led bar, and underbody led's and s/g works fine on my96 G16. Might check your brushes to see if they are good, and that's an easy fix.

Re: Will my starter/generator support lights and radio?
LED take less power. Gen typically make 15A of power so for example a 55w halogen driving light is 55w / 12v = about 5 amps (5x12=60 so actually closer to 4.5A). So pair is near 10 amps you have 5 leftover. The engine needs a little but remember the gen does not charge at low rpm you need to go 5mph or better to get power. They have no problem running 55w lights, radio does not take much, large car amplifiers will take more power.
