Default gas engine installation in electric yamaha

My 32-volt yamaha i recently bought used just doesnt have the power i need for the very hilly, mountainous terrain im using it in. I purchased brand new high quality batteries and they have increased the speed, but still havent found the power im looking for. I recently asked a friend and he said installing a gas engine would be a hard project but it's possible. I just wanted to get a second opinion on this to see if it was even possible to install a gas engine into a 3-4 year old yamaha before i jumped into anything.

Don't do it. You'll need a gas diffrential if you want reverse, plus everything to convert to gas. $2500.00 minimum and a lot of headache. Sell your electric and go find what you need......

You'll be money ahead in ditching the electric cart and just going out and buying a gas cart...

They are all right, but if you like a challenge it can be done. Mine was elc and now its gas but you will need to find an old cart with a good rearend and frame. Check out my pic and you can see what I went through. Good luck.

Have you looked into upgrading the controller to 400-600 amp Alltrax with a high torque motor? My 1993 G8 pulls some good hills here PA. It's not fast up steep hills but it doesn't stop. Cost would be about a grand for a high amp controller and new motor. It got me what I was looking for. D and D motors has some options. Good luck!
