Default What should I pay for a used charger?

I am needing to buy a used 36v charger. There is a guy who sells them locally who said he has one for $125. It is an older one that isn't automatic. He said it has a timer you set. Does the price sound about right? Should I look for an automatic one? Any help would be great.

If it is not automatic, I would not buy it....I know on my 48 volt charger, it chargers to 80 percent, then equalizes the batteries for the last 20 percent. Ask him why he is selling it, did he go with an automatic?

If you could get an automatic for around 200 or so I would think that is fair, usally it is just the main board that goes bad, I replaced mine for around 80 bucks, what is your old one doing, or not doing?

There are 3 types of chargers, timer/ automatic and fully automatic. I myself kind of like timer chargers. There basic, you can read the ammeter for charge timing and if batteries get to low you can allways charge them with a timer charger, not so with an automatic.

Being mildly retarded, I like the automatic feature, just twist the timer dial to max and let her shut down on her own. If the batteries are fully charged, the charger won't switch on. As far as the timer only chargers, Too much worry that you may cook off too much battery life if your timer settings are off and you are not available to visually check condition. IMO
