Default yamaha g16e help needed

Picked up a 98 yesterday for pretty cheap. I was told it needed batteries but expected worse and apparently was right. I put the cart on stands, removed the batteries and jumped the 36 volts from my ezgo over to the Yamaha after disconnecting the ezgos cables and running news cables to the Yamaha existing pos and neg leads. The cart had 38.2 volts but nothing, no click, no wheel movement, nothing. I suspected switch on the pedal but it tested OK. I figured solenoid so I jumped it and still nothing. I have 38.2 volts reaching the f/r switch as well as the controller. I measured the same 38.2 at all 4 terminals on the motor? This doesn't seem right but this is the first time I've been this deep in an electric cart ?? Any thoughts or ideas? Things to check or schematics?? Thx in advance.

I got the cart working but I'm gonna need a solenoid. I found some here locally but there's a huge difference in price. Yamaha 1142 is about 90$, club car 1113 is 30$. Seems to me it doesn't matter which one as long as its 4 posts 36 volts, right?? I can make it mount in the same location so I'm not concerned about that. Am I right? I hate to spend extra 60$ if it's not needed.

36 volt is 36 volt .. Don't matter who's it is .... The only thing I would look at is the amps that it can carry .... Is the Yamaha the same as the club car... What duty cycle do they have
.are they both 100% duty cycle... If yes...they are the same in amps and cycle I would save some money ... If not I would go back to the Yamaha..

The 2 different solenoids are a 1113 which is for the club car and a 1142 which is for the Yamaha. I can't find any specs online? Anyone have any ideas??
