Thanks Edp
Doesn't effect the lights at all.
I thought at first it might boost the power, or something, but doesn't seem to change the performance at all.

Sorry az...no clue. your guess of some type of boost set up may be it. We cant see where the solenoid leads go to.
Leave it and enjoy the cart as is.

The small solenoid is likely for "field shunting", a method of getting a couple extra mph at top speed.

Thanks Epb, and cgtech.
Pretty much resigned to being fortunate it runs good after sitting in the heat of summer.
Changes some tires this week, so now I have 4 that match. Didn't expect to see balance weights on a golf cart rim.
Took up that turnbuckle a couple turns this afternoon, so brakes should be better.
Next on my list is replacing battery cables.
Other than that just waiting for some fabric to cover the seats to arrive.
Looking forward doin. some serious traveling around town this winter..

Update:
Replaced some wires. Got new seat fabric, all new tires, and set of matching hub caps.
Have been riding around on it, and it holds a charge although I have a feeling it would have a lot more pep with new batteries.
Thanks for all the help on this my first experience with a golf cart.
