Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
I have a used 1998 EZ-Go electric cart that has a 2004 motor. The second owner I bought it from didn't know why the first owner changed it. Its an:
Advanced DC Motors Inc. BD5-4001A 36v Class H s/n 4849 Rating AU2500 I've tried Googling and searching various sites, but can't get any info on it. I'm interested if this is merely an equivalent replacement or if it's a beefier motor. thanks Adam |

Re: Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
Well....At first it came up as a stock 2.5 hp motor. Then after some more digging it crosses over to ezgo part number 73124G05 which is a high speed motor. That doesn't mean it makes any more HP, it just means it COULD be a motor with a higher RPM rating and 2.5 HP. Are there any more numbers on the motor?

Re: Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
Does the motor have a vented end or is it solid?

Re: Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
I can't see any more markings other than terminal labels. It appears that both ends are closed; not vented.
I assume knowing this info will be useful when I decide to buy a controller? thanks Adam |

Re: Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
The numbers say its a 2.5 HP motor. Usually they will say "fleet SPD" or if your lucky "HI SPD"
That particular number is a western part number as well as an ezgo number for a HS motor. |

Re: Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
Thanks, I'll try and look for that when I tear it apart. I need to pull out the batteries and clean up and paint the battery rack. I should have a much better view when I do that.
Do you have any idea what the rpm difference is between a fleet and high speed? Mine with five year old Exides seems to go a little faster than my neighbor's with brand new batteries. thanks Adam |

Re: Need Specs For Advanced DC Motor
Stock is 2800 and I think HS is around 4000. I just now saw 2 different HS motors with the same part number. 1 had vents and the other didn't. Just going off that number you could say its a HS motor. Keep in mind that I didn't find this number crossover on an official ezgo site and those numbers may not be correct.
