won't go
OK, I've posted before about a jacked up FNR switch but now something is really off. I let a guest take my cart to the beach and on her way back she stopped at a stop sign and it wouldn't go again. They pushed it all the way back. Everything else seems to work; radio, lights, alarm, even the solenoid clicks when the gas is pressed. Where do I start with the troubleshooting? I've replaced all wires, HD F&R... what now?

Re: won't go
Check the micro switches at the F&R and the 1 at the peddle TOO

Re: won't go
Microswitches on the FNR are good. They have continuity when they're supposed to as well as the switch under the floor. Like I posted originally, the solenoid DOES engage... I'm hoping this isn't too bad.

Re: won't go
OKAY,,,,,, just because a solenoid clicks doesn't mean it works check for pack voltage in and pack voltage out of the solenoid...... and look for a loose or broken cable at the motor? ... or shorted out on the frame where they all run behind the batts.

Re: won't go
Black wire on one side and red wire on the other side of the solenoid. Between the two when the pedal is NOT pressed, I get nothing. But when the pedal IS pressed, I get 35.71V. I am assuming that this means "pack voltage." Every ONCE IN A WHILE the cart seems to want to go when I press the gas. Lurches... well 1/100th of a lurch.

Re: won't go
Close. The solenoid is a switch. On the big terminal Positive pack voltage in and pack voltage out (36-39v). the 2 small terminals are the activation circuit; 1 pos. and 1 neg.

Re: won't go
ok... I understand... thanx for clearing that up for me. Now, one side has the wire going to the controller and the other side is going to the + side of the battery. Now, when the pedal is NOT pressed, I get 36V when I test each side to the - batt post, but I get nothing between the two. When the gas IS pressed, I get 36V between the two but... this doesn't sound right.

Re: won't go
NO... sounds like the solenoid is fried closed. As in not switching anymore, just welded shut....... it is supposed to be an on & off switching device. the small terminals activate a switch between the large terminals...

Re: won't go
Makes me think you have a controller problem also.
