Re: Replace cables
New here, I have a 1990 I am trying to fix up. Does anyone sell a set complete? or is it best to do a custom replacement? Sorry if this has been asked before, just new, and had a 1990 gifted to me this weekend. Needs a ton of work.

Re: Replace cables
Just to clarify - I also have 36V EZGO. Can someone spell out which wires to upgrade?
I believe it is the 6ga to 4ga for all the battery connections. But do I need to upgrade the wires to the motor? What else? After much searching it gets confusing to us "less than wild" guys. |

Re: Replace cables
Bostonbob
I have a 1997 36v dcs I replaced my cables just the other day. I bought a 25ft roll of welding cable from my local welding supply place for $23. and I bought 20 cable ends from my local golf cart repair place that he sold to me for $1.5 each. I replaced all of the cables from the batteries,2 main(larger gauge) motor cables also I had a short cable that was connected to my controller that was larger gauge so I replaced it also.. I ended up with about 3 ft of cable left over. I don't know what model you got but thats the info on mine.. hope it helps ya. |

So did you crimp all the cable ends? Or did you solder them? I used to have some wicked cool heat shrink solder connections but they were for like 16 ga wire. Did you see any improvement from just cables? Bob |

Re: Replace cables
I used a pair of visegrips and crimped the ends. I gained about 1.5mhp on my gps after I did that but my old cables were in pretty bad shape so I'm sure that didn't help things..

Re: Replace cables
You can get the wire, lugs, double walled adhesive lined shrink wrap, and solder slugs from a place called Del City Wire. Just do a search on the internet and you can find them.
