Default G16 - 2 questions plz

To get it to run constant.. looks like a Br wire and R/W from the schematic but is there a plug or something and where is it usually located.

Carb question, a G16 motor was installed on a G14 frame and the cart is also lifted so wheather because its a differnt mount or the lift the carb is acually not level. is this gonna be a problem after i have the carb done and add a pod filter. The cart runs terrable now, hard to start wants to die. I am sure its dirty and the lack of any air filter prob leaning it out etc etc but i am worried about it not being level.

also whats the pilot jet to be set at after black stop is taken off? Between 1 and 2 1/2? and is 1 leaner or richer then 2 1/2.

:Got to many things goin on here. One thing at a time. Needs the correct air filter to run, with the current jetting in the carb. Its going to run poorly till its jetted correct. Idle jet needs to be tuned to best throttle response from idle.

The lift kit on a g16 changes the angle of the entire motor. It didn't seem to affect me at all, other than my choke cable is like 1/2 inch too short now. I assume its similar on a g14. I have read somewhere that you should put slightly more oil in than the standard one quart do to the angle and the splash lubrication, but I have not had any experience with that myself. I am sure one of the way more informed guys around here can give more detail on that.

the carb is going to be rejeted the main jet going up about 5# and the pilot stop is off to be able to adj further if needed, the pod filter is already coming, part the reason is there is a lot of alterations and not into spending a ton on a new stock filter system. i bought the cart with absolutly nothing on the carb except a homemade pipe...hehe It runs just not good. Do you know if the the "not level" is going to cause problems.

The off level usually does not cause a problem. I am not a fan of open element filters, the stock filter, flows more than the motor can use, and cleans the air better than anything out there. I'd look for used. But thats just me. Stock parts are hard to beat in this case!

XO, get a hold of Smallblock, he can tell you which cable you need. Also never more than one quart of oil in any 4 stroke Yamaha golf cart motor.

I use a JW1-F6331-00-00 "the drive" choke cable on lifted cars, there alittle longer and work great. Mikes correct, 1 qt only. I also don't like the sound of open air cleaners.....unless there on a BigBlock with twin Mikuni's

I believe you all about the stock filter being best but since it did run just not good I am hoping that some help with a pod filter a jet and good cleaning will help, hopefully.

Anyone know how to jump the switch or plug to make it run continuios, about where to look besides off the pedal.

There is no stall in a Yamaha clutch, so if the crank shaft is turning, the car is moving.

Just to tune it, i plan on removing the belt. Thanks for all the help.

I can idle both this cart and my G1 without it moving, not sure what you mean.

The clutch engages at such a low RPM,that idle isn't really existent. With a modified clutch, your engagement would be higher, allowing a true idle. They aren't really designed to idle, since the engine can overheat, due to lack of air-flow.If you do set it up to idle, don't let it do so for longer than a few minutes.Hope this helps.
