Default G22 with New XCT48400

Just installed a new XCT48400 in my 2005 Yamaha G22. The original Moric controller quit. The cart has new batteries, new 4G cables, new throttle position sensor, and new ignition switch. When I first hooked the controller up and mashed the pedal, it jerked/moved but in the wrong direction. I swapped F1 and F2 and now it moves in the right direction, but it just jerks violently. After mashing the pedal, it will jerk several times until I turn the key off. Hooked it to my laptop and there are no warnings or alarms. Anyone have any advice on this? This controller is set to G19/G22.

Motor problems is what wiped out the Moric?

I’m with cgtech. Do you have the Hitachi motor? I’m assuming you do if your cart had the Moric.

This all started with the cart just shutting off while running. It would shut off, then I could flip the key off and back on and it would immediately take back off, then do it again in another 15-20 seconds. After a round of golf like this, it quit completely the next time I tried it. Let a shade tree golf cart mechanic look at it and he said there was no negative coming from the board. Ordered the board and solenoid from Scotty B and put them on, cart wouldn’t do anything. Chased down the bad ignition switch that the shade tree missed and got it to come on. The motor ran smooth before. Why would it all of a sudden act like this now?

Here’s a pic of motor label. I’m tempted to put the Moric controller back on to see what it does now that I replaced the key switch.

Also, it doesn't just jerk when you mash the pedal then stop. If you tap the pedal either in forward or reverse, it will jerk itself across my garage until I turn the key off. Anyone have any thoughts?

Are you sure it’s not a problem with the throttle position sensor? I know you replaced it but why?

I connected my laptop to the control, mashed the pedal and got no response while watching the throttle. But I’m not sure it was bad because my ignition switch was bad. Does the key need to be on/have power, to look at diagnostics like TPS while connected to a laptop? Replaced with a brand new one and it registers percentage when mashed now.

It did the same thing with the old TPS snesor on now that I think about it. I put the ignition switch on and it did it. Put the new sensor on and same thing.

What are your throttle sensor ohm readings when pedal at rest, pedal at full throttle?
