Default Exhaust Leak Question

I have an exhaust leak that is driving me nuts. It is right where the muffler connects to the jug. I have the correct OEM gaskets, and they are offset as they should be. I still have a leak!

Is there anything that I can use to help seal this up. I am sure it is far beyond the ability of even 600 degree silicone.

Anybody got any ideas?

Put a couple turns of header wrap on it.

It might be the metal rings on the flange pipe. Those are notorious for cracking and falling out. Also you can use exhaust paste, it's like toothpaste and you spread it on the joints before assembly. The heat from the exhaust hardens and expands it slightly, no leaks.

I am going to run by my local car parts store and see what I can find.

I am working hard to chase down all my air leaks.
On my cart, the exhaust manifold butterfly is long gone and the muffler is BBQ'd, so my exhaust is pretty much wide open. Are leaks on the exhaust side going to cause me to run with more choke? In my mind, with no butterfly, it is almost like one big air leak on the exhaust side.

The lack of the butterfly will only make it run better. If the butterfly is gone, is the shaft still there? Or is the hole plugged?

Cool. Then it has to be a gasket/seal at the flange or an actual hole in the pipe/muffler.
