Default Rubber Trim/molding on 81 Marathon

Hey all,
I am planning my bodywork/paint on my 81 Marathon.
Is there any alternative to paying for the expensive trim that surrounds the whole cart? It's the black rubber molding on the lip around the fenders and such. I priced it new and it was expensive. Has anyone done anything custom that can be used as a replacement to this?

Also, the rear quarter covers that are rubber, do they sell replacements or has anyone come up with a custom (cheaper) alternative?

Thanks.

Not sure what the link was for.....I know that the rubber trim is expensive and available.

What did you mean by plate it? Any examples? Pics?

I found a roll of the rubber trim that's pretty reasonable: http://www.golfcartcare.com/Merchant...ry_Code=ezmold

I took off my rubber trim and the metal strips that holds it on (lots of grinding and filling) then used automotive fender crome trim edging that sticks on.

That looks pretty good. Is that the trim that just slides/presses on? Kind of like what you put on the edge of your doors to prevent paint chips?
