timing advance key
im trying to pick up some more speed with my cart have exaust jet air filter its a g8 was wondering if any one could throw me some info on a timing advance key do they evan make one for yamaha and if so i would like to cut my head and install this any info would be great thanks

Yes they do make one for that motor. Yamaha's run pretty good compression right out of the box, but you could squeeze a little more out of it. I have run the keys before, but have not tried shaving the head down.

have you tried it and see any results i plan on cutting the head so i think that the key would help alot if i do that

I talked to Don at plowmans,and He said "it won't help a stock motor".
So with your exhaust, I don't know if He counts that as hi-performance or not. The way I see it, your gonna need more revs. and I bet the weak link is valve springs and then maybe the rod. Someone on here will know, and comment. |

alright thanks i have it tore down on the bench right now about to mount the head in the bridge port and knock some off the top im thinking around 25 thousands and im goin to call don ask about the key

we have a G9 at the campgroud that runs around 33mph
lots of modification & plowmans clutches the head is ported & shave also as a costum muffler,k&n air filter & jet |
