slow to start
i have a 94 ccds when i step on the gas pedal you can cout 1 thousand 1 one thousand 2 before the starter begin to crank the engine at first i noticed the belt was slipping so i tightend it up but still the pause im thinking i have a week battery what do ya think

It may be a low battery if the belt was loose and slipping, check the voltage of the batt or charge it and try it.

Fully charge your battery and let it sit a couple of hours then have the Battery load tested at your local auto parts store. If good then check all of you battery cables for loose or corroded ends.
If battery and cables check out you probably need your starter/gen rebuilt. If this is the case have a shop rebuild it. they will check the armature windings, resurface the brush contact area, new brgs and brushes. Lot of people just install brushes only and wonder why it's still sluggish. |
