Stay away. The navatis set up blows this away. The specs look impressive but it way under performs. It will only do 32 mph no matter how much power you put to it. I am running brand new allied 72 volt lithium batteries, and my neighbor with the navitas set up and 48 volt lithium runs away from me.

I’m getting 46 mph on mine with a big battery 48 lithium.
Was getting 42 mph with 23 inch tires now I’m running tires a bit bigger 26 inch and reaching 46 mph and was running out of space. I think it would go just a little bit more if I had more open road. Not sure what your settings are but there’s a little bit of tinkering in the set up under sport mode that can achieve way more than 32 mph.

Not as advertised. They claim you get more power and touque, with a higher output controller. However you do not, the motor as set to max out at 32 mph on matter how much power you put to it. I am running brand new 72 volt allied lithium batteries, and my neighbor running a 48 volt lithium pack on a navatis set up can run away from me. Tires rims and the set up the same, the navitas will run 37-38 mph, while this tops out at 32-33, with more power put to it and a bigger controller. Disappointed and frustrated with the product, but it looks really cool.

Good to hear a apples to apples comparison

Peek performance on a Navitas 5kW motor max is actually 14,000W (or 14kW). The max RPM on the Navitas 5kW motor is 9000 RPM at the armature.

The ASI OAK motor is 9000W max (or 9kW). The max RPM on the OAK is 8000RPM at the armature.

Here is the evidence right off of:

Ratings on motors matter and reading labels matters. The 5kW rating for the Navitas motor is based on:

Ask me how I know. I deal with a lot of AC motors. So if anyone is going to throw mud that I am some Navitas shill. My favourite AC motors are made by DanaTM4 (previously SME). But, the funny thing is... All of them are designed in Canada! So I am happy that anyone uses Canadian designed products. :D

ASI makes a good product. At one point Navitas and ASI were um... the same company people.

This article outlines a bunch of interesting stuff:

https://www.therecord.com/business/2...le-market.html

Rob Lankin who was the head of ASI unfortunately passed away. I am told by people who knew him that he was an awesome person.

Lots of history here too on Navitas and ASI:

https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25028

Engineers have worked both at ASI and Navitas over the years...
