A not so annoying back up alarm
My back up alarm failed on my 19 year old cart. It was a continuous alarm that was mounted below the battery compartment, under my seat. The old alarm was pretty loud and on the annoying side (too loud, too shrill).
I replaced the failed alarm with an intermittent alarm that is combined with a flashing LED light. I mounted this at the back of the cart ... where the warning sound and alarm should have been in the first place. I bought this on Amazon for under $5 ... I also bought a spare in case of future replacement. I am very happy with this new alarm ... it is only 80 decibels, so it is not too loud, the tone is not too harsh, the intermittent sound is a nice feature and LED flasher is good in the dark. Here is a link to a YouTube demo that was on Amazon ... it is not exactly mine but is pretty close: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdz6...ature=youtu.be I have also attached a few photos of the one I purchased. Search AD16-22SM on Amazon and select the correct voltage for your application. Regards, 3CW |

Re: A not so annoying back up alarm
This one is an ACDC 12 V ... but other voltages are available.
I have ordered some 48 V relays and plan to connect this back up alarm to the relay and power this from my 48 x 12 V converter. Right now it is powered by tapping off of 2 x 6 V batteries. |

Re: A not so annoying back up alarm
Nice and simple. My reverse alarm "failed" too,,,, right about the same time I tore the cart down to modify it. Dang, if it didn't get lost too,,,,

Re: A not so annoying back up alarm
You can simply relocate the alarm negative to a different battery to reduce voltage and decibels. I do like the pulse better than the constant.
