Default 2ply vs 4ply tires

I recently purchased what I expected would be 4 ply Fox A/T tires. I received 2 ply tires instead. The tires are nice, but I am a little disappointed that the seller stated 4 ply and I received 2 ply.

Is it that big of a difference? I see that the 2 ply tire states a maximum tire pressure of 5lbs!!!! However, they are still a radial ply and should provide a nice ride. I am worried about puncture resistance.

What would you recommend?

1.Return the tires and get a refund.

2.Use as is.

I've heard of this before!
Contact the seller, and get them to make it right!
They said 4 Ply... you should have gotten 4 Ply!

What does it say on the tire? If you have 2 plys on the tread and 2 plys on the side wall I think that makes it a 4 ply. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I have Swamp Fox tires and they are 4 ply.

I called the vendor. At first he was sure that I was sent 2 ply tires by mistake, and that every tire he has is 4 ply. He called me again a few minutes later and stated that the manufacturer supplied him a full supply of 2 ply tires instead of 4 ply. He has offered a full refund including shipping costs, so he seems like a stand-up guy and was very polite about it. Now I have to wait for a UPS call tag, then ship the tires back and wait for a refund.

Thanks for the input!

The 2-ply tires are usually a cheaper brand tire and the sidewalls are thinner.

The max weight rating on the 2 ply is 200 lbs. Does this mean that max load is 800 lbs, based on 4 tires? If so, then the cart itself probably exceeds the max load capacity for the tires! Adding passengers would certainly put it over limit.
