Default toggle switch for turn signals

I'd like to use this simple wiring diagram to install turn signals. (A friend saw this on another site). A toggle would be put into the dash instead of the arm mounted on the steering column. I already have lights and tailights, plus brake lights. I have three seperate lights in the back. One is for the brake and the other two come on when the lights are on. Would it work?

Looks like it would but the Toggle needs to be center off....ON/OFF/ON

edit- Oh, and the switch need not be DPDT but SPDT would also work- same goes though, needs center off......

i don't know much about wiring so my input is limited. if you're trying to make it street legal, it may not pass inspection. in ohio, you have to have hazard lights as well as signals. with a toggle, i don't see any way to have both on at the same time.

Here's a better picture....it doesn't show the rear laights but they are connected the same as the front....

In NM, to be street legal, it cannot go faster than 35. I wanted simple turn signals, on my way to the course, I have to make a few turns, don't want to get hit.

Here is a different wiring system I came across. It looks much harder though.

Kewpie> I didn't spend a lot of time thinking
about it but will your way cause your front turn lights
to come on when the stop lights come on??
and the second one won't.
