Default Cheap roof

I am sure there are some similar threads about how to do things easy and inexpensive but I wanted to share this.

Golf cart roof.jpg

We want to get this thing in shape for deer season as inexpensive as possible until we know how it will run, and how it will do in snow. I assume next year we will "trick it up a bit".

We wanted a roof structure so we could put a camo cover on it and stay toasty warm. After looking at roofs and roof supports costing a total $250+ I went to Home Depot and found 3/4" EMT conduit and borrowed a bender. It turned out that a 3/4" galvanized pipe 90 allowed the conduit to be threaded perfectly with little effort because the conduit is soft enough to self tap.

Beyond what you see I will add 4 or 5 cross members between the side supports for support and it all will cost me about $30 grand total. My local golf course is giving us a windshield and I will buy a used tent and make a canvas cover and paint it.

It's ready for the windshield and plexiglass roof and back window, and gun rack.
Grand total cost of every thing for the roof is $56............. $16 for conduit, $12 for PVC parts, $6 for 3/4" pipe fittings, and $22 in hardware (nuts bolts and washers)
