Default Ezgo Marathon Project 1991

I got this 1991 Ezgo Marathon on a trade approximately 2 weeks ago. Crappy paint job, duct tape everywhere, steering very sloppy, and so on...
Amazing what some grease on the front end will do - to help out the sloppy steering.
It did come without a front cowl and the truck bull bar instead- I decided to keep it as it looks good to me.
I did replace the front shocks, throttle cable, and in the process of painting and body work. I have been wet sanding and using Rustoleum Metalic blue.

I will eventually do a compression test, clean the carb, and will be doing the general maintenance on it. I will update as I go

Welcome to bgw !! measure the with of the belt. It should be 1 3/16 looks like it's worn to maybe 1 1/8 or less ???? The clutches appear to be operating correct.

Ok thanks. Will do soon as I get home.
It performed better in reverse up the hill.

I might just be crazy... I just did a test from a dead stop in the same incline in both forward and reverse. It felt like it performed fhe same. I suppose I just need to do a time and distance comparison 1st just to be 100%.

I did buy a gasket for the carb/manifold area, so I can give the carb a good clean.
Is there any other potential gaskets or O-rings that I might need to replace while I'm in there? I want to know before I take it apart, that way I can put it back together and we can keep using the cart.

Yes the belt is affecting the performance of the cart and also the shifting. As for the carb No nothing spacial. Be sure to clean all of holes with a small wire and remove the jets and clean them well . I use a piece of wire from a wire brush that I pull out of the brush. Some uses torch tip cleaners but be careful not to open up the hole sizes.
