Default G22 fuel pickup line in gas tank question

Had to clean out bad gas from the gas tank and found the pickup tube/hose really mushy and collapsed. Could be my original problem I've been tracking down.

Can I just use a regular piece of fuel line in its place?

Thanks

you could, but why start to butcher your cart for a 19 dollar part.

Do yourself a favor and dont start building in future problems. if it has a G22 fuel tank in it, it should be a rigid tube, not flexible hose. it should be secured only by a rubber grommet, no screws or flange. it should also have a fuel shutoff. heres pics & part number.

Thanks cgtech. My tank looks different though. See below.

I think my cart is a 2003 -2005 model and not a 2007 as I said in my intro.

I've got a G22 -- The tag on the body says it was manufactured in 2002. It has the G16 gas tank and key switch. The cart has no numbers on it, but it's probably an early '03. Yamaha must have used the remaining supply of G16 parts early on...

sure enough, i was wrong about that. early ones did use the G16 style tank. the plastic elbow is known to crack also. heres the current part number for the pickup tube & elbow. "2P5-F4300-10-00".
