Never heard of anyone doing this, but a "Mores cable would do it or a teleflex control cable!!

The Yamaha 2 cable system is awfully hard to beat!!

yeah, but those are probably more expensive for one than the correct yamaha cables. morse / teleflex is boat stuff (Bust Out Another Thousand $).

Take a look at Ebay. I'm going to replace my, too long, push pull cable with a shorter one. I am actually thinking about buying an automatic shifter with the cable and convert it over.

When I got the G2 rear end for my cart all I got is the gear case and axle tubes. I didn't get any axles, brake parts or shift cable stuff.

I didn't even get the shift linkage that attached to the rear end. But, a fellow member was nice enough to send me the linkage and I converted a boat shift control and cable too the rear. The push pull cable operates the shifting just fine, although the cable itself is a quite a bit too long.

Something along these lines would work, although I'd look for something less pricey!
B&M!
