Default Cart will go dead, tired of getting towed

A friend of mine has a 2010 YRDE AC drive. Occasionally when the cart if left for an hour or so the cart will no longer move. Put it in reverse, the buzzer is on but the cart will not move, put in in forward, it may or my not move. Switching the Tow / Run switch back and forth does not solve the issue.
Wait 30 minutes or the next day and the cart will move like there was never a problem. The Batteries are new and no power or run time issues. Just when it is stopped for a period of time it seems to go dead. Seems this is occurring more often lately. Anybody experience this problem or have a clue what is wrong.

Default Re: Cart will go dead, tired of getting towed

Well, a 2010 yamaha "as equipped" from the factory, was Not AC. Secondly, best place to start is the gas pedal start-stop switch. I test this one by letting the gas pedal "slam up" from the fully pressed position, slide your foot off the side of the pedal. I normally do this test on a fully wired, ready to drive cart while the failure is occurring. Goes like this: I turn key on, I press gas pedal to try to drive, nothing happens, I let gas pedal slam up once, I try to drive again. If this test allows me to immediately drive away, I drive into my service bay & replace pedal switch. This test is not the "Yamaha suggested test", but have dealt with so many of these, it's my "quick & dirty test". Since your cart is failing more intermittently than that, you may need to do the test with the cart off, pedal switch Unplugged, pedal switch connected to your ohm meter. There is also a "poor man's way" of repairing that $60-some dollar switch if you search this site.
