Re: "Precision" Batteries?
Knew I had heard of these somewhere before, but couldn't remember where.
I've been trying to get Trojan 875s for over a month now and everywhere within several hours drive of me says they can't get them until late June all the way out as far as mid August. Other battery brands are the same way, even Sams Club is telling me there is limited availability on their Duracell brand batteries. Auto parts stores can get some but the un-named big box store with the red sign told me over $170 per battery for Diehard (which are re-labeled Duracells). My local place told me he can get these Precision batteries for around $120 each, still seems a little high but not as bad as other places. Need them for two carts, so I'm hoping they last a few years at least. |

Re: "Precision" Batteries?
Plan on getting them through my local auto parts dealer. Their prices are a bit higher, but it saves me from having to drive several hours to pick them up. They also deal with any warranty issues with zero questions asked. Perk of spending $$$$ of dollars with a local company every year I guess.
The closest Pasco dealer to me is Ashland, but their stock is/was low on these (called to ask). My local guy is ordering them through a separate distributor, they're coming out of the main warehouse in MD. They appear to be 170ah batteries, so as long as they can run all day for their first season here then I think they should be good at least for a few years. |

Re: "Precision" Batteries?
Picked them up today, will try to get them installed tomorrow if I have time. I can say, they are not made by any manufacturers that I recognize from the form factor of the case and post design. I like that The date codes are clearly embedded in the top of the case along with a lot# or serial #.
Might be made by Exide Corp? Either way, I won’t complain about the price for 170AH batteries. |

Re: "Precision" Batteries?
One season on two sets. No problems to report so far.
The post design is similar to those made by Exide. Not sure if these are made by Exide, but they're pretty similar. Make sure you use battery terminal spray on the posts. The CRC stuff in the red can seems to work the best for getting under the overhang that these posts have. If you can't get coverage on the entire post (even the underside of it) you'll have problems with corrosion that wont go away. |
