Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
-Stumped on why my cart barely wants to run. The batteries are good, charged, connections tight and clean.
-I have and upgraded motor from Plowmans and an altrax 300. All looks good. Motor isn’t hot or anything? Any ideas what it could be. -It will run, but just barely as if the batteries are going dead when I know they aren’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
What solenoid you running? I suppose it could be, but you would be able to detect a voltage drop across it if it was the solenoid. If you clip your meter leads to the solenoid big posts and set meter to a DC volt setting like 20, or 200, you will be able to see just how many volts are dropped in the solenoid. Also solenoid would get quite hot quickly if it were a significant restriction.

Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
I’m just using the stock solenoid.
Just recharged the batteries. Problem still exists. It will take off fairly strong and then slow down. Seems like I’m hearing a lot more clicking than normal coming from the solenoid. However I thought if it was the solenoid the cart wouldn’t run at all? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
Id look at motor, or if it has a speed sensor, Id look at that

Re: Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
That is easy to test. On a Yamaha Sepex model, you can just unplug the motor speed sensor. The cart will run same speed without it.

Thanks for the responses. I know it’s not the motor. Replaced the original with one from plowmans.
The only issue part I haven’t replaced is the solenoid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
If you have a Alltrax XCT, use your laptop to monitor the rpm. If no signal found that's where to start. I realized after I posted that you may not be running a stock controller, or the older alltrax DCX, those older ones ran fine without a tach signal, but the XCT does not (unless specifically told to ignore tach).

Re: Cart barely running. Possibly bad solenoid??
Update-
Got in contact with Don from plowmans. He was able to identify the issue in 30 seconds once hooked up to the controller. Bad speed sensor.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
