Default G-16 clutch belt wear ?

So put a new clutch belt on in the spring have driven cart maybe 15 times have noticed since replacing belt I don’t get the high RPMS kinda like it’s grabbing or rubbing so took a peek at it today and something is definitely not working right .

What belt are you using? Aftermarket belts are usually crap. OEM belt is good. Plowmans and G-Boost are much better.

Runs perfect up to half throttle but when you put it full throttle it just fells like its dogging out or rubbing .

Is it a true Yamaha OEM belt or an OEM knockoff? I've had some strings on edges of belts, but once trimmed off there was no problem. Never any rubber loss, tho...

Are you sure that there isn't something wrong with the primary clutch? Are the clutches shifting properly? Are the sheaves even and smooth, and not dished?

If the clutches are aligned properly, the belt shouldn't keep the clutches from shifting.

Trim the strings off of the belt and clean the sheaves with acytone.
