Re: G-16 clutch belt wear ?
What belt are you using? Aftermarket belts are usually crap. OEM belt is good. Plowmans and G-Boost are much better.

Re: G-16 clutch belt wear ?
Is it a true Yamaha OEM belt or an OEM knockoff? I've had some strings on edges of belts, but once trimmed off there was no problem. Never any rubber loss, tho...

Re: G-16 clutch belt wear ?
Are you sure that there isn't something wrong with the primary clutch? Are the clutches shifting properly? Are the sheaves even and smooth, and not dished?
If the clutches are aligned properly, the belt shouldn't keep the clutches from shifting. Trim the strings off of the belt and clean the sheaves with acytone. |
