Default new member needs help

hello out there ! I just signed up today and am looking for some help. I just purchased an old Gas yamaha cart, and can't find the model #. I was told to look under passenger side on frame and also on crossmember by rear shocks. I checked both places and could not find anything so I'm hoping someone can help me. The engine # is J24008793 Alt #J1081173-00. Any help in finding the model & or year for this cart would be greatly appreciated!!! thanx

Look under the seat on the back of the body.

Look under the dash on the drivers side to the left.

I don't know about factory, but I have two stickers in those locations.

Welcome to the forum.

The serial# should be located on the main frame rectangulor tube were the rear bumper bolts to. You'll probably need a lite and wet rag. should start with J24-000000. Welcome to the "nuthouse"!

You Da Man!!!! Found out it is a 1983 Model G1. Now I can order parts. Cart runs ok at take off but bogs when floored. cleaned carb, fuel pump and ran new fuel lines & filter. If you pull the choke out and release every 4-5 seconds she smooths out. seems to be short on gas.fuel filter is approx. half full. Any ideas? I have only been a member a couple of hours and love B G W !!!!!!!!!
