1987 ez go marathon rear axle
I have a 1987 ezgo marathon and I tore the drivers side rear brake hub off and the splines on the hub and shaft are stripped. I ordered new parts for the cart, but I cannot find any literature on how to change the axle on this cart. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Remove the snap ring and slide the axle out.

Re: 1987 ez go marathon rear axle
try putting the brake drum on backwards, then put the nut on. now you can use this as a slide hammer.

Re: 1987 ez go marathon rear axle
Sorry to revive an old thread, but………
Also an ’87 Marathon with stripped splines. I’ve removed the snap ring and used the reversed hub slide hammer trick. The axle only moves in and out about ½ inch. Is there anything else I need to do, or do I just keep banging away until it eventually slides out? Thanks. |

Re: 1987 ez go marathon rear axle
Please disregard my previous post.
I walked away from it for the day. I tried again this morning, and with just a few more bangs with the reversed hub, it popped out. |
