Reduced turning radius fix for Jakes spindle lift
FYI for anyone who has installed a Jakes spindle lift. I could not figure out why I lost two fulls turns on the steering wheel from lock to lock after I installed the lift so I called Jakes to ask them about it. They said they do that so that all the high speed carts will not flip from turning to sharp. The fix is to turn the wheels lock to lock in each direction and grind some of the metal off the axle where the spindles make contact with the axle. I did this and got another turn and a half after grinding it back.

Re: Reduced turning radius fix for Jakes spindle lift
Will grinding the axle weaken it?

Re: Reduced turning radius fix for Jakes spindle lift
You only have to remove an 1/8" or so and it is in a place where there is no way that it weakens the axle. Just take a look at your cart and you will see what I am talking about.
