Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
I have swapped out the coil from a cart that works fine. Same results.
.Yes I've checked spark (against block and turn it over) when hot, fuel when hot and compression is 120. Runs strong when it runs, just doesn't when warmed up. Have replaced fuel pump, coil, cleaned carb. I squirt fuel in carb when hot and still won't start. |

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
Ok, in a previous post you stated it would start in reverse, is that still true?
I had a two stroke dirt bike one time that did about the same thing. I had broke the skirt off the piston, but I know that I had over reved the engine and thats how I broke the skirt. I would not think this would be your issue?? But I am out of ideas on this engine, its hard to diagnosis an issue with out being there. How many hours on engine? Keep us informed |

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
Have you tried a muffler BBQ? Try loosening the bolts holding the muffler to the cylinder to see if it runs better. Mine bogged down when warm until I did this.

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
Actually the exhaust pipe has a split in it and lets out pressure anyway. I have thought about cooking the muffler and we have a halloween bonfire coming up. Maybe I'll cook it then!

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
I swapped one out of similar 2 cycle cart. The one from my cart worked fine in the other cart and vice versa. Didn't even bother to swap them back.

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
Sorry to join late but I'm having the same issue. Runs for 20 minutes, Stops and needs to rest (cool down) for a while before it starts again. I want to change the coil but am not sure if the coil you refer to is the ignition coil or the pulsar coil????
Which coil are you referring to ? |

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
The coil replaced is the ignition coil. Have not replaced the pulsar coil...that being said, what is a pulsar coil? Thanks in advance.

Re: EZGO 2 Cycle dies unexpectedly
Mastro22, welcome to the forum, before you start tearing the cart down try this. Connect a DVM to the battery, now start the cart and go for a rum. What voltage do you now see?
