I have worked on my G1 carb and it's pretty simple. Like sb450sl implied there isn't much to them

Save your money, just clean it. Is the throttle shaft loose?

You can also buy a throttle shaft kit, Yamaha part # J17-14202-09-00. As I recall, it came witha plastic bushing/new shaft and disc. Could be less then a new carb.

Other than the throttle shaft repair already mentioned a good soak in carb cleaner, a new needle and seat for the float and a float bowel gasket should have you fixed good as new.

Wink Re: G1 carb

If you want a good replacement try amazon. I got one from them cheaper than ebay and have used it for the past 2 week. The only thing is it comes with the idle screw only turned out one turn, not the one and a haft it is supposed to have. will not start very well at all with just one turn out.

I also have a G1 1983 and I am updating some parts as well mainly because where we vacation is 150 miles from home and I due not want to spend my vacation upset about a golf cart that has broken down.

just my two cents !!!!
