Default 1989 ezgo compression

I have a 1989 ezgo marathon 2 stroke 3pg I checked the compression and it was 110, I have put a new carb and hei conversion using the old coil but brand new coil. new voltage reg, new fuel filter and fuel lines, new plug wire, and plug, muffler blows real good so not plugged, I put a voltage gauge and it charges at 14 volts. so that is good. I have ordered a new fuel pump and when it comes I will be putting it on. What the cart is doing is it will run good and just slow down and then run good again what do you guys think is going on????????

The driven clutch is worn. As it gets up to full speed it opens too wide and the belt falls onto the spindle which slows the cart down and causes the clutch to close up again.

Well it's as good a guess as any.

Ooooh! Ooooh! I vote fuel!

Guessing a sticky float in the carb bowl causing flooding, or a speck of dirt making the main jet feeding the bowl keeping from closing, or the tab on the float needs adjusting to close the main jet!

Even better! Some sort of air leak somewhere in the supply system, maybe a crack in the feed tube, or the vacuum line needs replacing! When pressure builds up, it runs good, but then pressure is lost after the fuel feeds. Then the pressure builds again. This cycle of pressure goes up and down!

Or even a dirty fuel filter! Or a worn crank seal! Or a ferret ate your belt!

Ooooh! Ooooh! Or maybe your alternator belt is loose. Or maybe your spacer from the motor to the alternator is loose.
