Default LED light bar (wattage)

Hey guy, I was planning on putting a LED light bar on my cart, but noticed there is a bunch of different wattages/powers? I've seen the power sources range from 36W - 300W (120W being the mot common). Just wondering if these will hook up to the battery with no problem and if anyone knows the difference? Thanks

What battery are you going to hook up to? Most of these light bars are 12V. a 120W 12V bar will draw 10 amps at 12V. You have to use the light bar's intended input voltage!

I run LED bars on all my carts and generally install them on carts I sell, too - if the cart is going to see a lot of offroad use I try to go with the 180w- 60X3W (30 inch) CREE combo bars, or on street carts I go with the 120W - 12X10W Cree Combo bars. With that type of wattage draw it's important to NOT just direct-wire them to a switch, spend the extra $8 and wire them to a relay.

The bars that use the 10W CREE XML Emitters are a lot more efficient than the ones that use the 3W CREE or Edison LED's meaning You'll get a lot more light per watt (they of course are more expensive, too) - stay away from a lot of the LED "Kits" out there, most of them use the 1W emitters and they just don't penetrate or provide light like the 3 or 10W-based light bars do.
