This may be harder than I thought. These rods have some weird dimensions to them I do know a guy on another forum that may be able to CNC some billet rods but I can't imagine it being cost effective. No harm in asking though |

Re: ??? about rods
What most of us performance junkies need is a forged rod
But if you can get some cnc'ed, it would be interesting to see how they hold up, and if they would off balance the crank significantly. I just did a quick google. http://www.pauter.com/billet_rods.htm they seem to make 1 off forged rods and stuff.. would be neat to check out. They even got titanium rods. i can just see it now, a tuned up cart engine hitting 14k rpm, lol. |

Re: ??? about rods
I don't think the crank would survive those revs

Re: ??? about rods
There were steel rods available at one time for these motors. But, at $700.00 a set they didn't sell many.
People are using stock cast aluminum and replacing @ 300 hours! More cost effective! Some have the crank hardened and have bearings installed on the journal.rods. |

Re: ??? about rods
There's some info in this thread on cranks, rods etc..
Subarumouse races go-carts in the netherlands, uses a 350. Look at his pics in his profile. Serious! Water cooled, oil cooled.... 295 head on 350 performance engine rebuild? The link didn't work, you got the idea! Check it out! |
