Default clutch machining?

Alright I new to the whole golf cart world and recently bought a 96 ezgo txt that I have lifted and put 22x10x10 swamp fox's on, along with a 28 degree driven clutch. But I have been reading about clutch machining and I am wondering if a machined 36 degree clutch would give me the added power of the 28 degree clutch along with the added top end of the 36 degree?

A properly machined clutch weather 36 or 28 will give you quite a bit MORE power than a normal 28 degree. The 28 degree only controls the rate of upshift, The starting gear ratio is the same weather 28 or 36 degree. A machined clutch has a higher starting ratio, you can then control the rate of upshift with a stock spring, power spring or the 28 dregree ramp.

So if I understand you correctly the 28 and 36 degree clutches have the same starting and top end ratio. The only differnce is the 36 degree clutch shifts faster than the 28 degree.

Are you looking for more speed or more torque?

ok, well I may be talking to you in the spring to get a little more bottom end out of it. Would the machining affect the top end at all?

No the machining does not affect top end, Some of the power springs do slightly
