2003 gas EZ go for towing
Hey folks, good morning. Thanks for letting me in the door here at BGW.
I have been snooping around and doing some random searches looking for upgrades to this cart for towing a 3000lb race car back to the pits, and it is mind boggling to all the options avalible. My questions are: Where should I start the upgrade process??. The cart has the Robins 295cc and I believe it is a TXT fleet model. As per the PDF manual onsite(thanks) I believe it has the 13.32/1 gear ratio. So that seems about right for towing, or is there something better or a better ratio for what I want to do??. I found a 16 HP motor upgrade at mr carts . com I guess I am just looking to upgrade the engine/clutch/gears at this time for easier towing, longevity and better power. Trying to stay at around $1000+- for everything. Thanks for any replys or ideas, they are appreciated and noted. |

First thing to change would be put a 28 degree driven clutch on it. As for more power from there you are going to be budget limited when it comes to the motor upgrades as there are no cheap upgrades really.

Re: 2003 gas EZ go for towing
I have used a regular gas cart like your to pull a 07 f-250 diesel b4 with no problems.
In stock form you will have no issues pulling 3k. I know race cars roll pretty easy. I would make sure the clutches are in good shape. if not replace as needed. I would get the HD belt (little shorter) and the 28 degree driven clutch as stated. Now it also depends on if you want to lift or not. Of course you know that bigger tires reduces teh overall gear ratio. |
