I don't think so, without a lot of rewiring. The key switch just controls the direction and back-up buzzer, the gas pedal has a switch that actually controls the ignition.

Here is a wiring diagram

I have heard of guys putting horn switches on the brake pedal, so you foot depresses the switch for the lights. That way the lights are only on when your foot is on the pedal. I have seen kits that have a pad that mounts on the brake pedal that does the same thing. Maybe one of the gurus will chime in with an idea. I haven't got that far along on my G1 yet, so maybe I'll get some ideas too.

I've been kicking around the same thing for my cart. I've thought of the horn or pad switch on the pedal which is probably the easiest and most straight forward.

I also wondered if there would be a way to put a capacitor in the circuit that would allow the brake light to only be on for a short while, then go off if the ignition/engine hasn't been run. Of course I don't know if it's a feasible idea or not...

In the schematic you will notice a relay above the cdi unit. It is located on the right rear fender of the cart and is activated any time the gas pedal is depressed. Connect your extra lights to the white wire that goes from the relay to the ignition switch, that way you will only supply power to your accessories when you have your foot on the pedal. You can also purchase what is called a time delay relay which can be configured to stay on for a certain time period then turn off.The time period is adjustable by a pot on the top of the relay and you will have to purchase the relay socket to mount it on as well. Check the digikey.com web site for the relays. Hope this helps

Thanks for that added info!

I got to thinking after I posted my earlier message that I had capacitor stuck in my mind when I was really thinking along the lines of the delay relay. Thanks for mentioning that option. I think that would be a useful piece for the way these carts are designed.

Found a brake pedal switch on E-bay, it's a little pricey.
