Default belt seems to tight why?

iv got the g1 yamaha it has the 1305 belt on it witch seems to be the right one but its to tight....? what would cause this...? the belt is sitting about 7/16 under the top on the secondary clutch and its tight on the front drive clutch roller bearing, and i cant push the belt down hardly at all...... not even a 1/4 in. Is their and adjustment on the rear end somewhere? other then that all i could say is get and inch or two longer belt i guess...and if thats the case can someone help me find that belt... thanks guys

Don't think there is an adjustment on the G1's for the drive belt. Either wrong belt or maybe the clutch needs greasing (somewhat stuck). Can you slip the belt off/on the rear clutch system ok. It should be where you can slip it off/on by rolling the rear clutch.

Also check the rear axle, be sure it has not shifted.

i just put a new sliding sheath on the secondary and its still the same, but it needed it because the ramps were wore out. i guess i cant really tell if the rear end has shifted i mean i believe their was 4 bolts in each side holding axle to the engine mount, as far as i can tell with the numbers on the belt its the right one. and as far as being able to roll the belt off no! i have to open the secondary to get slack enough to get it off.... i really just hate to buy another belt and have it be the same one.. 1305.. so i guess i dont know what to do now.. just get a longer belt? Where might i go to find a bit longer belt? and does anyone know of how long the 1305 is

I don't know a thing about a G1, but I think you have a primary clutch problem, not opening back up.

Does the primary clutch slide in and out freely, meaning from not engaged to fully engaged.? You should be able to roll the belt off the secondary clutch easily, when the primary clutch is slid open (at its widest position).

Start searching for maintenance and clutch maint. I think that is where you will find your solution.

Check motor mounts, start looking for something wrong that would force the belt to be tighter. Bet its a maint. issue.

ok that's something i haven't checked yet is the motor mounts, clutches really seem to be fine.I can tell the secondary wants to bring the belt higher in its self but cant because the belt length and at that point its tight on the primary roller .ill have to check the mounts

Have you measured the belt with a seamstress tape? It may be miss-made, labeled.
