gas yamaha g16 gear ratios
i want to get 6:1 gears for my yamaha g16 but i see people saying its only for electric g16 not gas. i also hear people say that my golf cart comes stock with 12:1 but i can go 26mph and only mod is a speed spring stock everything else. one more question i got the torque spring but i cant compress it to get the secondary clutch back on i used a 1" ratchet but it broke before it compressed any ideas?

Re: gas yamaha g16 gear ratios
The gears will work for your gas cart, but be careful-what you gain in top speed, you loose in hill climbing ability. Dan at Plowman's said he got his cart over 50mph with gears (I believe the 6:1) but backed off the gearing (to 8:1) because the cart wouldn't climb. As for the spring, take a look at the "Sticky" under Gas Yamaha. Use a come along and strap and make sure to "wiggle" the outer clutch she eve so it doesn't bind while being compressed as suggested-works like a charm.
