Default G16A 96' service basics

I am looking for a service manual (not user manual) or basic overview doc of the G16. I hope after a thorough study it will reduce the amount of potential questions I have. I am just looking to get the basics (ie. cable/belt tension, clutch, carb, starter, reg, etc). Thanks in advance!

Roth, start reading this site. All that info is here, if you read. That's what I did, and had no questions after.

Thanks Mike for the quick reply! This is indeed an awesome site with LOTs of great info. I am a reference junkie and would still like to find a manual. Do you know any legit place to purchase an original or even a PDF?

I bought my repair manual on ebay from Boylens Golf Carts last year--it was $65 or so. There's a used one listed now, and some downloads available that I haven't seen before. It's a good book.

Found it!!! For $15.95 Buy It now I got instant PDF download. This is over 2,000 pages of service and maintenance info for G2 through G20. Everything from general maintenance to carb, clutch rebuild! Even cross references and id's serial # and models! This is the Yamaha bible! I will still be relying on this site for theory and practical tips though. This site ROCKs!

do you have any ideas re my G16 Yamaha that wont re start after it gets warmed up? it appears to be a bad solenoid/coil as we can cool it down or remove and replace and it works again? weird? i cant find one to replace it with as no one in Utah carries them? i dont know what part to order as mine is a replacement one and not a yamaha part? any ideas?

Lavorn, get one either from Yamaha, or one of the sponsers on this site. You want OEM parts. Everything else is short lived!

Thanks. I already bought another one of the Grainger models like what is on it and it cost me double what the OEM cost but I didn't know about the OEM parts and we don't have a dealer in our town in Utah and even the dealer in SLC that handles the Yamaha golf cart has to order this part so it is easier to just get one off the Internet. Unfortunately I learned too late. That's par for me!!! Thanks for helping.

Golf cart solenoids are continus duty, if you didn't get a golf cart solenoid, very short life.
Most solenoids are momentary, meaning they are used just seconds at a time.
