g1 yahama will a two stroke engine run without muffler

For a little bit then motor goes boom....... 2 stroke needs back pressure of the muffler.

Likely run poorly but will run. I have taken them off to see if it ran better, to prove the muffler was plugged. The ones I saw would not rev up much due to muffler plugged.
