help with installing Headlights to a yamaha G1
I have a yamaha G1 Golf Cart and picked up a set of headlights from pepboys hit has on the lights a red wire /blue wire and black ground wire, a seperate red to connect the 2 lights together, then a blue line that has a fuse which tells me to put it on the positive battery side, it tells me to connect the the blue wire with the fuse to the positive battery connector and then to the switch, the red line which is connected to both the lights connect that to the switch, then theres a ground which if course ground it, before i hid the wires i stuck the gnd thats connected to the switch and the switch lit up, when i fliped the switch the lighst did not go on. i tested the lights on the battery and they both work, i am wondering when i connected the lights to the metal frame do i need the gnd wires connected to the frame..... i blew the fuse messing with it so i need to replace the fuse.. any help would be great.... thank you

Don't ground to the frame on a Yamaha, the ground must go to the negative on the battery. Hope that helps.

Re: help with installing Headlights to a yamaha G1
Shouldn't be a problem, I haven't installed taillights on my G9 yet but I've been looking at using the oval led trailer type tailights unless I can find something cooler.

You can tie your tailights in with the head lights to operate off of one switch with no problem. Just make sure your fuse is big enough for the total draw.
Where in IL are you located. I'm just outside the Quad Cities. |
