Explosive Diagnostics-Ezgo Marathon 1989
Ok, so I was trying to do diagnostic with a DVOM on my 1989 Marathon that has a solid state controller. I am attaching pictures to explain this more easily, but basically, if I turn the key on, my entire positive side of the key becomes a melty mess. I have tested removing the F/R assy. and connecting positive side directly to microswitch/ solenoid...doesn't matter. Melts the connection every time. Need to be wearing welding goggles.
Basically...why do I have a grounded connection coming through? I don't know which of these connections is NOT supposed to be grounded. I'm leaning towards controller being shorted out... I DO know it looks like the diode across the solenoid small contacts is blown... |
