Default 97 G16E power

Hello all my first post. Looks like the best site on the web.

Question for you guys. Just picked up a 97 G16E. Its gutless. Runs fine. Speed is fine. But it has no torque. Wont go up a hill. My ezgo goes up any hill. This needs a push. Are these old series type motors powerless or do I have a issue. I did jump the motor with a pair of jumper cables and it spun the tires and took off. I also checked the throttle and adjustment all checked good.

Thanks for any help.

I have no experience with this cart but typically, series carts have lots of low end torque. What is the condition of your batteries? Check voltage under load.

Hi Volt

Replaced all batteries no difference. Like I said I jumped the motor straight from the battery. Sucker spun tires and pinned you to the seat.
