Default 1988 EZ go pg2 no fuel

Hey y'all. I just bore my cylinder and installed the new piston and rings and all gaskets. Buggy has good compression & ran good for about 5 minutes, then I had to choke it to get it to run, then no start. Checked the fuel pump, no fuel coming out of pump. Ordered rebuild kit, installed it, still no fuel coming out of pump. Any ideas?

Did you put the piston in with the square hole towards the intake side? Rings bevel side up, and the ends aligned with the pins in the ring groove?

If that is all good, pull the fuel pump, and place your finger over the pulse hole while turning the engine over. There should be a good amount of pressure pushing your finger off the hole. No pressure would indicate a blown seal.

Did it backfire, or pop once before it quit running good? This would also be a good sign of a blown seal.

What did you find inside the pump when you rebuilt it? Dirt, Gunk, Stuck check valve, Ripped diaphragm, or couldn't find any problems?

Does it still have good compression?
Did the bore job include chamfering the ports?
Added a little extra break in oil?

Yep, everything is right. I shot some ether in the carb a few times and it primed the pump, now all is well. Thanks
