Default G1 yamaha smoking

Just got a g1 that has been sitting for years. I installed a China carb to get it running while I rebuild the mikuni. After driving for a while, it smokes like crazy. HUGE smoke clouds. It really turns heads. Gets worse as it warms up. Any ideas? Im trying to get this thing going for my family to ride on

try running it at high rpm for a while, like a nice long ride, see if it clears up. smoke on the g1 means too much oil. most likely there is lots of oil buildup in the exhaust, thats why the muffler bbq works.

another issue is the oil injector might be malfunctioning. you could disconnect it and run a premix of 150:1 see if it gets better.

When I first got the cart running, I premixed the fuel 100:1 ratio. After making sure the oiler worked, I hooked it up and replaced the fuel in the tank. It smoked the same either way, so I am sure the muffler is full of oil deposits. I am going to start a build thread on this

Just pull the exhaust off and nuke it. About to do the same to my kids little 2 smoke 4wheeler as well.

Running cheap (walmart supertech brand), the wrong kind, or too much oil in your premix or the auto oiler will cake up the muffler with unburnt oil and make it smoke like that. cook the sucker and it'll clear up
