mounting spot for voltage reducer on 07 Drive
I'm converting my 07 Drive from (4) 12V to (6) 8V. The voltage reducer is mounted in the middle of the battery tray where the additional batteries will go. Where do they mount the reducers in a (6) 8V configuration?

I made a bracket and mounted it in back of the batteries next to the tow/run switch.

The factory used a plate below the controller that sandwiches behind the controller.

Item 47 in pic below. Since Yamaha never mounted DC converters in your mounting location between the batteries, I know for sure yours is aftermarket. That means the existing holes on the plate for DC converter mounting may not be correct for your aftermarket converter. |

I have a 2016 yamaha Drive and I made a bracket out of angle iron and 2 sheets of metal. mounted it in the battery bay.

Not required just for swapping batteries but highly recommended if adding any 12v accessories.

Running 12v light bulbs on 16v will significantly reduce their life. Car radios won't work on 16v. Plus, the battery balance issue still exists (and is slightly worse, 12v lights draw 33% more amps on 16v).
